Floating Options Dialog Box

To open this dialog box:
In the Polaris Administration Explorer, select the organization, Parameters, Patron Services, and double-click Floating Options.

Use this dialog box to:

Enable floating collections - Select the Floating enabled checkbox.

Limit the items that can float into receiving branches by selecting Collection or Title/Material Type. The Limit By Option can be selected at the System level only and cannot be modified at the Branch level.

Implement load balancing - If Collection is selected, you can also select Load balancing. If Load balancing is selected, the options Float items with no matching collection, Float items with no collection, and Prompt for additional floating items are not visible in the dialog box.

Note:

If Collection is selected, branches can specify the default collection limit. Branches can further refine collection limits using the Floating: Collection Limits policy table.If Title/Material Type is selected, branches can use the Floating: Material Type Limits policy table.
