Radio Free Elsewhere
A tiny Internet radio station, streaming music that's something different, from somewhere else.
Radio Free Elsewhere is powered by Icecast on the back end, but the front side of things is custom code and open source templates. I'm not a great designer, but HTML5 UP is. You'll find information about the web design below. This repo contains all of the code that's not related to Icecast and the foundational aspects of streaming.
AI Disclosure
I am not a very good coder. I can, and do, write code, but I'm very slow and I need to look up a lot of things. There are good reasons that, once I get something into a state of MVP, it takes me forever to do anything else with it because it took so long to get it there in the first place. With that in mind, I disclose that I use Claude Code to help me handle things that would take me hours to accomplish on my own, if I was able to accomplish them at all. While I'm working on projects, I try to minmize the use of AI as much as possible. Anything I can do myself in a reasonable amount of time, I will. There's no point in telling an AI to fix a CSS error that I can handle in seconds.
I have complex feelings about AI and how it's used. In my case, I'm using AI to make things that I literally wouldn't be able to make otherwise. I don't want that to be seen as an excuse, but merely as an explanation.

A simple, minimalist template that actually began life as an unused redesign of my personal site. Includes a (configurable) parallax background effect, Poptrox-powered lightbox gallery, a bunch of pre-styled elements, and Sass sources for the Sass-inclined.
