<p>The Serial Check In workform displays issues or parts in reverse chronological order, but you can sort them by the column headings.</p>

<p class="NoteShade"><b>Note:<br /></b>You can use the Acquisitions/Serials parameter <b>Display of Issues on Check In</b> to exclude certain statuses from display in the Check In workform, but they still exist for statistical purposes. See <a href="../../Serials_Admin/PDKserial/Setting_the_Check_In_Display.htm#XREF_29506_Setting_the_Check">Setting the Check In Display</a>.</p>

<li><span class="FM_BulletHead">Open the serial holdings record for the serial title of the listed issues or parts</span> - Right-click the issue or part, and select <b>Links</b>, <b>Existing</b>, <b>Serial Holdings Record</b>.</li>

<li><span class="FM_BulletHead">Enter notes regarding the serials title </span>- Type notes in the <b>Non-public</b> and <b>Non-public/warning</b> fields regarding publication pattern changes, problems with an issue or part or other notes for staff. </li>

Use the Create Bibliographic Record from Standing Order Part dialog box to create<span class="FM_BulletHead"> a new bibliographic record for the standing order part.</span> Enter the following information:</p>

<li><span class="FM_BulletHead">Generate item records when issues/parts are checked in </span>- If you want to generate item records, select the <b>Generate item records on check-in</b> box, and if you want to be prompted to scan the barcode of the item when it is checked in, select <b>Prompt for barcode on check-in</b>. </li>

<li><span class="FM_BulletHead">Indicate the price of the items created from the issues</span> - Type the price in the<b> Unit price</b> box. When items are created from checked in issues, they will contain the price indicated. </li>

||||
<li><span class="FM_BulletHead">Indicate the type of supplement or index</span> - If the item is a supplement or index, enter the type in the <b>Type of supplement/index box</b>.</li>

<li><span class="FM_BulletHead">Indicate how many issues you want to predict</span> - Type the number of issues in the <b>Number of issues to predict box</b>.</li>

<li><span class="FM_BulletHead">Enter the textual holdings information</span> - Type the information in the <b>Textual holdings</b> box if more information is needed to adequately describe the holdings. </li>

<p>Use the Publication Pattern Template Manager to view existing publication pattern templates. This list can be filtered to only show the publication patterns for a specific creator or publication frequency. You can also create new publication pattern templates or open and edit existing publication patterns from the Publication Pattern Template Manager. </p>

<li><span class="FM_BulletHead">Show publication patterns created by a specific individual</span> - Select a name in the <b>Creator</b> box.</li>

<li><span class="FM_BulletHead">Show publication patterns created for a specific publication frequency</span> - Select an entry in the <b>Frequency </b>box. </li>

<li><span class="FM_BulletHead">Sort the list</span> - Click a column heading to sort the list.</li>
