<p><a name="kanchor348"></a><a name="IX_monitor_screen"></a><a name="kanchor349"></a><a name="IX_monitor_screen_and"></a><a name="kanchor350"></a><a name="IX_recommendations"></a><a name="kanchor351"></a><a name="IX_resolution_and_text"></a><a name="kanchor352"></a><a name="IX_increased_display"></a>The Polaris staff client is displayed according to the computer's screen resolution and magnification settings. For workstations running Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10, you can modify your computer<span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">’</span>s magnification setting from the default Small (100%) to Medium (125%) or Large (150%), and the Polaris UI will reflect these changes. (This is not supported in Terminal Services.) In addition, customers who have large monitors can change the screen resolution to 1024 x 768 or above. </p>
|

<p>However, when the resolution is set at 1024 x 768 or below, and you change the magnification from the default Small (100%) to Medium (125%) or Large (150%), some workforms might be partially obscured. If you set the resolution above 1024 x 768, you can increase the magnification above the default (100%) to enlarge the workforms while still fitting them into the screen.</p>

<p>You can change the default orientation of landscape in the printer dialog, but not in Polaris. This means that you must change the orientation for each record you want to print, since Polaris does not offer bulk printing for records.</p>
|
||
<p><a name="kanchor353"></a><a name="IX_as_rotating_staff"></a>When you log on to Polaris, the settings in effect are determined by the branch with which your user name is associated. In addition, the permissions associated with your logon ID and the workstation determine what Polaris tasks you can do. If you work at multiple branches, you select a branch name at log-on to be sure the settings are appropriate for the branch where you are working.</p>
|
||
<p>For libraries that use a training server, the Polaris Administrator can set an alert message to staff members that they are logging into the training server. Or, the Polaris Administrator can set different workform colors to distinguish the training server from the production server.</p>
|
||
<p>If automatic logon is enabled for the workstation, the logon dialog box is skipped, and you are automatically logged on to the Polaris application using Windows Active Directory.</p>
|
