Welcome to my new music playlist!

I have a playlist where I throw all of the new music (or new-to-me music) I've found around the Net and around the airwaves. It's a central repository of new tunes that I'll want to listen to and see if I want to add them to my library or maybe even broadcast them here on RFE. Years ago, I named this playlist "The Spin." And when I'm streaming The Spin, you never know what you're going to hear, but here's the fun part, I don't know what I'm going to hear either! Because these tunes are usually something I caught out of the corner of my ears and decided I'd like to hear more. So while I may or may not be familiar with the artist, all of this music will be new to me.

So join me. Let's discover some new tunes.

Last week, we lost a rare one, lads. And I couldn't let her go without a couple of hours of her music and the Celtic music that she loved so well. Moya Brennan, born Máire Philomena Ní Bhraonáin, passed away last week at the age of 73. She was often called the First Lady of Celtic Music and you'd have a hard time finding anyone who might challenge that. She was a trailblazer with a timeless voice, no matter whether she was fronting Clannad or running solo. She'll be missed, and yet her music lives on. So, let's have a little celebration of her life and her songs.
